I do not have the skills at this stage to attempt a motion rig , maybe one day after checking more of your vids. nice vid. the RUclips Algo failed , i have only found your channel after years of searching for DIY cockpits and found your old vid of the pipe rig. I had this yoke for many years. I never took it apart. After watching this, I'm just realizing how poorly it was deigned. Why would they only use 10 degrees of a potentiometer's full (270 degree rotaion. That's horrible. Regardless, thanks for sharing.

Hi Rodger Dodger, I'm pretty close to buying the 20$ plan package. I just have 1 question ... does it end up solid after being made of 1 in pipe? It seems to me like it would end up kind of shakey or rickety.

this may just be the mod that will make landing SO much easier for me… landing a 737 is easy with the default configuration cause it requires a lot of pitch… but small general aviation planes like a c172??? that middle detent GRABS you, especially landing small planes like that where it needs to be subtle… thanks for posting this, will have to try tomorrow!

Still have hope for motion flight sim tutorial

The modifications to this stick are great, but to get really smooth movement you have to remove the plastic bearing from the front of the stick. It will look like a real plane. The big problem is the pick and pull springs and the bearing that stops the smooth movement.

How do you set up the main external view? I can't figure how to eliminate the image of my aircraft in external view.

Awesome instructions! Worked like a charm. I was trying to figure out what went wrong in a dogfight when my throttle wouldn't move all the way forward and sprung back. That little detent was the cause of it all. Never liked it in the first place. Had it for years and now it's like I have a fully functioning throttle. Thanks!

Thanks for the video! I play Elite Dangerous with full range throttle and landing with the detents was driving me nuts. I always thought the throttle was kind of stiff but I didn't even know the detents were there but this definitely fixes it! I have the Logitech X52 (The non Pro silver one) and initially the base wouldn't open until I realized the 2nd center screw was hidden under a "disclaimer" sticker. I used the screw driver to feel where the hole was and then pushed it through. Thanks again!

Thank you SO SO much for this video. The Detent broke on mine and my throttle could no longer move fully forward, was driving me nuts. I did this and now I love throttle motion better than before!

This is awesome. I just bought the Cessna-branded Saitek yoke and throttle quadrant on ShopGoodwill for $36 and am so glad to find this mod! I'll be doing this as soon as it arrives in the mail.

Easy as... Thanks. My X-52 had a tab in the centre near the left function button on the inside clipping the silver cover that curves over the front. I had to open from the rear and then kind of wrench it forward a bit to separated the cases.

Hmm I think this channel just gave me idea's for a easy to setup/tear down foamboard cockpit pod for my vintage space combat flight sim games...

They made it easier now. All the rubber feet have holes.

A guy at church let me use his Yoke until I get my own. His only has the throttle control lever in the housing, unlike the other models which have all 3 levers, but it’s still basically the same. I told him about this mod and he gave me his total blessing to do this. Maybe this yoke would be a temporary thing for me, but this mod would be a good thing for him as well when he gets it back.

"no reliable evidence of this from other sources" even four years ago it was common knowledge heated PVC or sawing PVC releases small amounts of chlorine gas. It's in the name Polyvinyl Chloride.

I just did it and it is much nicer. I also added some thick big bolts as dead weight. Now it is much more stable and it feels better.

6:58 you can grease the springs along their entire length to mostly eliminate that noise
